A Pilgrimage Within A Pilgrimage

If you’ve been with us a while, you may know that this journey is as much (or more) a pilgrimage as it is a mission of service and love. We are looking for signs of beauty, hope, and goodness  – signs of God – amidst a very broken world (read the post Sightings of the King for more).

This morning we left for our Pilgrimage Within A Pilgrimage. For 3+ weeks we will be walking up, down, around, and through the Annapurna range of the Himalayas in Nepal. We will be walking, listening, processing, and soaking up the beauty of some of the highest peaks in the world.

We will not be bringing the camera. We are leaving it behind in part because we would rather encounter the Himalayas without a lens between us and the mountains; we want to be fully present to the pilgrimage and not just get sweet pics. But also because the camera is so dang heavy. Maybe we’ll snap a few quick shots with the phone for your viewing pleasure on our return.
