Making Sugar [India]

While driving the rural countryscape of northern India, we came across a family sugar processing business along the side of the road. The main component of the process were four deep in-ground vats heated by scorching underground fires. The family members work in synchronized rhythm as they process raw cane into concentrated balls of caramelized sugar.
